Studio 33

I have been making art for as long as I can remember. It is the one part of my life that never fails to satisfy my mind and open my heart. I have been fortunate to have shown my work on both coasts of the United States as well as in Europe and Thailand.

Though primarily abstract, my work also has encompassed the figure and is heavily influenced by the California landscape and my travels around the world. Structure is very important in my paintings as is the use of color. My style of painting is very painterly, and I spend a great deal of ti me building up the paint surface beginning with very bright colors for the underpainting. I use a variety of mediums mixed with paint and work in acrylic and oil. I also do printmaking with monotypes being my choice in this area. I work on canvas, wood, paper, and sometimes whatever I can get my hands on.
